We left the Twin Falls 93 RV park by 9:00 a.m. continuing our way toward Tucson where we had made a reservation for a week starting on Sunday. This morning started with a surprise when our Solis hot spot decided to stop working. We couldn’t connect to it and without it we didn’t have any internet access. We still have our Garmin RV GPS, and it works without any data, but having the ability to access the internet to scope out stops for the night is pretty important. We never solidify a plan for the night in advance, rather we wait and see how the day unfolds and determine when and where we want to stop by how we are feeling. The last two years I purchased a US SIM card with unlimited data to use while driving through the states. I didn’t think we needed it this year, that is until the Solis hot spot started acting up. Lesson learned, always have a back up!

We clocked a lot of distance this day, getting ourselves 379 miles closer to Tucson. We found the perfect overnight spot in the parking lot of the “Alien Research Center” near Hiko, Nevada. As cool as the spot was, unfortunately we weren’t able to go into the store as it wasn’t open. HeyZeus loved exploring the site. There were quite a few people who stopped in to take pictures with the big alien. By the time the sun set though, we were the only ones in the lot. It was the quietest night I think we’ve ever had, literally in the middle of nowhere. And the stars….wow! Rest stops always have lots of lights, which is a good thing for safety but it sure is nice to see the night sky without any light pollution when you get a chance. Talk about feeling small!
